Suffolk County Child Psychiatrist Offers Integrated Care for Kids and Adults

East Setauket, United States - November 6, 2026 / Resilience Psychiatry /

For many Long Island families, the hardest part of getting help for a struggling child is the wait. Resilience Psychiatry in East Setauket usually sees new child and adolescent psychiatry patients within one week, including families seeking a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation or an ADOS-2 autism evaluation.

Care is led by Dr. Jessica Carbajal Cáceda, a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist and certified ADOS-2 administrator. She completed her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Miami and previously served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Stony Brook University.

"When a parent finally decides to reach out, they shouldn't have to wait months for answers," said Dr. Carbajal Cáceda. "Seeing families quickly means we can start sorting out what is going on, whether that is ADHD, anxiety, autism or something else, and give parents a plan while the school year is still underway."

The practice evaluates and treats ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma and school-related stress in children and teens. Autism evaluations combine the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition) with a full psychiatric evaluation and a plain-language feedback session. With a family's consent, the team can coordinate with pediatricians, teachers, school psychologists and therapists so everyone works from the same plan.

Pediatricians, school professionals and therapists in Suffolk County who would like to refer a family can call the office at (631) 371-4844. Families can also book directly online through Zocdoc from the practice website.

Appointments are available in person at the East Setauket office, and follow-up care is available through secure telepsychiatry for eligible patients in New York and Florida. Care is available in English and Spanish.
